We were at the Unity Day which brought together local community in Hammersmith and Fulham for a day of joy, live music, dance and food. It started with a March against Racism led by our new Mayor Cllr Daryl Brown and followed with a wonderful celebration of diversity and richness of talent at Ravenscourt Park.
We all enjoying live music from the Mangrove street band, Polish folk dance and a circus show. Children ran and bounced cheerfully enjoying a treasure hunt and bouncy castles. It was also an opportunity to meet some of the local projects supporting children and the older people in our borough.
Our highlight was a Unity Tree where people of all ages gathered throughout the day to paint leaves symbolising what community means to them. They were then attached to a tree installation displaying richness of words and colour.
We are looking forward to the next year event!
