Warmer Together 2019-20
Can you donate all or some of your Winter Fuel Allowance today, to help provide extra support for less well-off older neighbours this winter?
Of the 19,000 residents aged over 65 in Hammersmith & Fulham, over half have a long-term health problem or disability. 25% live in poverty. 43% live alone.
For many of the others, life is much more comfortable and enjoyable with support from friends and family. Everyone aged 65 or over who receives a state pension automatically also receives a ‘Winter Fuel Allowance’ to contribute to the additional costs of heating during the winter.
We are inviting those who can afford to do so, to donate all or some of theirs to Warmer Together, to enable us to work together to provide extra support for less well-off older neighbours.
Last year, you helped us reach 278 older neighbours in need, including 69 year-old David* who is blind:
“I live alone, and often don’t meet anyone for days on end, so to be able to socialise and have such a lovely meal financed brings joy to my life.”
This year, we want to do even more.
How you can help
- Donate online now. Give all of part of your winter fuel allowance (up to £300), via the donate button below. Or if you are younger, whatever you can afford.
- Make a gift by cheque today. Payable to ‘Hammersmith United Charities’ and mark the back ‘Warmer Together’. Kindly post this our address: United in Hammersmith & Fulham, c/o Hammersmith United Charities, Sycamore Gardens, London W6 0AS.
- If you’re a local business, make a company gift to the campaign.
- Organise a fundraising event with your friends, or colleagues.
We are proud that 100% of funds raised will support less well off older neighbours in our borough this winter.
If you’re a UK taxpayer, Gift Aid could boost your donation by 25%. Simply click here to download the Gift Aid declaration form, complete your details, and return to us by email (email@example.com) or post (UNITED in Hammersmith & Fulham, c/o Hammersmith United Charities, Sycamore Gardens, London W6 0AS).
Warmer Together has been launched by UNITED in Hammersmith & Fulham, a not-for-profit organisation with the vision ‘Better neighbours make better neighbourhoods’. Hammersmith United Charities (Registered charity 205856) is the preferred method to assist the collection of funds.
All donations are held in a separate account. The distribution of funds will be overseen by the Board of Trustees for UNITED in Hammersmith & Fulham, who will have a degree of responsibility to identify the areas of greatest need for financial assistance to help older people in the borough this winter.
Please contact us if you’ve got any questions.
